Multi Tier Drop Down Box Element

This element allows for the creation of a series of linked dropdown lists. Selecting an option will then expose a subsequent sublist.

Note: Although the Multi-Tier Drop Down Box has the option to "Include as a search item" Tiered Shared Lists cannot be used as search items for Directory Builder currently.

1.Drag and drop the ‘Multi tier drop down box’ element:

2. Click Configure:

3. Click Define Question:

4. Edit/configure: 

Field

Enter the element label.

Physical Width

Enter the width in percentage of the page for the element.

Must Select a Value

Check if required.

Must Complete All Tiers

Check if required.

Show in Details Page

Select whether this field is displayed when the full (i.e. detailed) database record is displayed. Useful if some fields need to be searchable but hidden from view.

Summary Page Options

Selects whether this field is displayed in the summary listing. Also, allows the field to be displayed as a link, which, when clicked, display the detailed database record. You can also list the data ordered on the basis of this element.

Note: if required select Order Records by This Field. This option allows the user to click on the field label and sort entries by this field.

Listing Page Options

Selects whether this field is display when the directory is rendered as a list.

Note: this option applies if the directory is to be displayed via an RSS feed.

Include in Keyword Search

Check if required.

Provide as Search Option

If required, check to provide a dedicated search field for this element.

Show Key Value/Pair

Checking this option shows both the field name and the corresponding value on the detail page. Unchecking will show only the value.

Expand Direction

Select an appropriate option. 

Only Use Final Selection in Display Mode

Check if required.

4. Click Update Element to save.

5. Select the appropriate shared list from the dropdown.
