SharePoint Asset Import

Define Data Transfer Task

To import Assets from SharePoint, create a Data Exchange Package, configure the Data Transfer Task.

1. Select the SharePoint Asset Data Source, and click Next. The following view will be presented:

2. Edit/configure:

Key Field

Select a unique field, which will be used to identify individual assets

Hash Fields

Select one or more required hash fields. An item will be updated if the data any of the select hash fields has changed.

3. Click Next.

4. Select the Asset Data Target. The following view will be presented:

5. Edit/configure: 

Import Category

Click Change to select an appropriate category in the Asset Manager for the assets to be imported into.

Data transfer key

Enter a unique key or reference for the package, and click Next. The following view will be presented:

6. Edit/configure: 

Key Field

Map the key field selected In step 2 to a SharePoint field.

Serialized Asset

Map the Serialized Asset fields to a field in SharePoint.

7. Click Next, and enter an appropriate name for the task. If required, check to enable incremental mode which prevents previously imported records from being import again, unless a nominated Hash Field has changed.

8. Click Finished, and then Save.

Note: to run the Data Exchange package, click Run Now.
