Adding an Asset to a Page

Inline Asset

In order to add an inline asset to a page the Asset Placeholder element must be present.

1. Click to select the appropriate Asset Placeholder, and click Show Asset Properties:

The following view will be presented:

2. Search for the appropriate asset.

Note: filter the search results select Asset Type, click to select a Category or select advanced to apply additional filters.

3. Click to select the asset. The following view will be presented:

4. Edit/configure:

Download

If required, select to download the asset.

Select

Click to add the asset to page

Bookmark

If Portal is in use on the site the asset may be bookmarked for display.

Return

if required, click Return to search for an alternate asset.

5. Click Select. The following view will be presented:

6. Edit/configure

Alternate Text

Alternate text is accessible by search engines and screen reading software. If required, amend the alternate text appropriately.

The alternative text will be present in the form of a HTML alt attribute. If the image cannot be displayed the alternate text should render as a tooltip against all browsers. 

Web standards state that the tooltip should not display when the image is displaying correctly although this may still be the case in some browsers. Please refer to the World Wide Web Consortium for further details on the intended behaviour of HTML tags and the associated attributes. 

Caption

If required, add an appropriate caption. This caption is displayed below the asset on the page.

Long description

The long description is accessible by search engines and screen reading software. If required, add an appropriate long description.

Display Size

Select an appropriate Custom Asset Size.

Enable Zoom

If required, check to present the user with a link enabling them to view the asset at full size

Note: if the asset is displayed at original size, the zoom option is not presented:

Note: if the zoom is enabled a Lightbox option is presented. This displays the full size image in the centre of the page against a blacked out background. If required, check to select this option.

If Lightbox is selected a Slideshow Group name option is presented. if utilised the Lightbox will show a slideshow of asset with matching group names.

Zoom Size

Select the appropriate custom size.

Image Mapping

If required, select this option to embed mapping code in the image.

Save

Select Save to add the asset to the page

Remove

Select Remove the image from the page.

Browse Assets

Select Browse Assets to search for an alternate image

Originating Asset

If the user has appropriate asset privileges, select Originating Asset to edit the asset.

Aligning an Image

Click to select an asset, and select the appropriate align option:

Replacing an Asset

To replacing an asset, click to select the appropriate asset, and select Show Asset Properties.

1. Click Browse Assets to search for an alternate asset.
