Easysite Page Data
To create an RSS feed go to Administration -> Content -> Feeds -> Create a New RSS Feed.
1. Select Data Source Easysite Page Data. The following view will be presented:
2. Edit/configure:
Feed Title
Enter an appropriate title for the feed.
Feed Description
Enter an appropriate title for the feed.
Publish RSS
If required, check to allow subscription to the RSS feed.
Published URL
If the RSS feed is to be published, create an appropriate URL for the feed.
Note: the URL must always end in .rss or .xml or you may experience issues with the performance of your Easysite installation.
ID
Easysite will allocate a sequential numerical identifier for the feed.
Include Consuming Pages
If required check to include pages where content is consumed from elsewhere.
For Title Field
The title field defines what the article is called when displayed. Select the appropriate option.
Display Category
Select whether the categories are referenced by name or id when the RSS feed is viewed in a browser.
Include Restricted Results
If required, check to include articles normally restricted by page permissions.
Note: users will see restricted articles in the feed, but will be redirected to the login page if trying to access the article.
Use Page Content as Description
If using the Article page element to create a full content RSS feed, check to display the content of the article element rather than the page summary as the article detail in the RSS feed.
Page Content Identifier
If using the Article page element to create a full content RSS feed enter the unique identifier for the element.
Note: the page content identifier should be formatted as: article-content [article identifier]
Source
Detail the source material.
Publisher
Detail the publisher.
XSLT Translation
If required, enter appropriate XSLT translation information.
Filters
Limit to items added/modified in the last
Enter an appropriate value
Must be in any of
If required click Add Category to select one or more page categories. The RSS feed will contain articles in any of the selected categories.
Must be in all of
If required click Add Category to select one or more page categories. The RSS feed will contain articles in all of the selected categories.
Must be in none of
If required click Add Category to select one or more page categories. The RSS feed will not contain articles in any of the selected categories.
Maximum items
If required, enter an appropriate value
Order by
Select the appropriate option.
Display comments in
Select the appropriate option.
Categories
Categories may be used to group feeds together in order to generate shorter lists of related feeds. Check to select the appropriate categories.
3. Click Save and return to RSS feeds.
