Add
To add an asset to the asset manager, select the appropriate asset placeholder and click Show Asset Properties. The following view will be presented:
1. Click Add. The following view will be presented
2. Select the type of asset to be uploaded. In this instance a Photo has been selected, and the following view will be presented:
3. Edit/configure:
Binary File
Browse to search local drives for an appropriate asset.
Note: Regardless of any upload limit set within Easysite (such as asset upload restrictions) all uploads are ultimately limited by the webserver, Internet Information Services (IIS).
As a default IIS is set to restrict uploads to around 30MB. Trying to upload a file larger than this limit will result in an error.
Convert to PDF
Check if required.
Note: the PDF converter module must be installed for this feature to work.
Title
Enter an appropriate title for the asset.
Alternate Text
Enter appropriate alternate text for the asset.
Short Description
If required, enter an appropriate caption for the asset.
Long Description
If required, enter an appropriate long description for the asset.
Keywords
Enter appropriate keywords, separated by commas for the asset.
Featured Asset
if required, check to promote the asset to top of any matching search results.
Scheduling
If required, select Scheduling to present the following view:
Enter appropriate scheduling dates
Categories
To add the asset to one or more categories, select categories. The following view will be presented:
Check to add the appropriate categories.
Note: categories allow for efficient storage and searching of assets. They may also be used to generate dynamic lists of related assets.
Metadata
To add metadata to an asset, select metadata. The following view will be presented:
Click Change to associate an asset owner, and complete any other metadata fields
4. Click Save Draft to create an unpublished instance of the asset, or Publish to add the asset to the page. The following view will be presented:
5 Click Return to browse for another asset, or Select to add the asset to the page.
6. Configure the local instance of the asset as required.
