Tracking Elements using Analytics

The administrator may configure default elements to track. In addition, tracking behaviour may be configured for individual page elements.

Pages

To configure the tracking of individual pages go Content ->  Edit -> Analytics. The following view will be presented:

Track views of this page 

Select the appropriate option:

Use site default refers to the module configuration in Administration.

Yes will track views of the page, even if page views were not enabled in Administration.

No will not track views of the page, even if page views were enabled in Administration.

Links

To configure tracking, if individual links are to be tracked, select a link and click Create Link. The following view will be presented:

Tracking 

Select the appropriate option:

Use site default refers to the module configuration in Administration.

Yes will track clicks, even if link clicks were not enabled in Administration.

No will not track clicks, even if link clicks were enabled in Administration.

Custom tracking Fields

Any custom tracking fields will be presented under the track views option.

Inline assets

To vary the tracking of inline assets, configure the appropriate asset element on the page. The following view will be presented:

Track Asset Views 

Select the appropriate option:

Use site default refers to the module configuration in Administration.

Yes will track asset views, even if asset views were not enabled in Administration.

No will not track asset views, even if asset views were enabled in Administration.

Custom tracking Fields

Any custom tracking fields will be presented under the track views option. In this case Campaign example is a custom tracking field.

Attached assets

To change the trackintg behaviour of individual attachments, configure the attached asset element on the page. The following view will be presented:

Track Asset Downloads

Select the appropriate option:

Use site default refers to the module configuration in Administration.

Yes will track asset downloads, even if asset downloads were not enabled in Administration.

No will not track asset downloads, even if asset downloads were enabled in Administration.

Custom tracking Fields

Any custom tracking fields will be presented under the track views option. In this case Campaign example is a custom tracking field.

Streamed media

Easysite can track views of streamed media. However, this is only currently only possible if the asset is a YouTube video which has been uploaded as a Streaming Media asset:

Select the Youtube source.

eShop

Custom tracking fields can be used to track campaign activity within the eShop element. If required, custom tracking is applied to the View Order Receipt element:
