Link Field

This element allows a link to be added to a Directory entry. A typical result of a link when populating the database is:

Link Field Element

1. Drag and drop the Link Field element into the appropriate location:

2. Configure the element. The following view will be presented:

3. Edit/configure:   

Label     

Enter an appropriate question.         

Layout   

Select whether the question and answers are displayed in two separate columns, or whether the answers sit under the question as rows in a single column.

Physical Width

Enter the width of the answer box in percentage of the screen.

Mandatory

If required, check to make completion of the field mandatory.

Default Text  

If required, enter an optional default value for the link text.

Default URL      

If required, enter an optional default value for the link URL.

Default Title      

If required, enter an optional default value for the link title, which is displayed when you hover over the link text.

Check if required.

Character Limit

If required, enter an appropriate character limit for the field.

Show in Detail Page

Select whether this field is displayed when the full (i.e. detailed) database record is displayed. Useful if some fields need to be searchable but hidden from view.

Summary Page Options  

Selects whether this field is displayed in the summary listing. Also, allows the field to be displayed as a link, which, when clicked, display the detailed database record. You can also list the data ordered on the basis of this element.

Note: if required select Order Records by This Field. This option allows the user to click on the field label and sort entries by this field.

Include in Keyword Search     

If required, check to make the element searchable.

Provide as a Search Option   

If required, check to provide a dedicated search option for this field.

Show Key Value/Pair   

Checking this option shows both the field name and the corresponding value on the detail page. Un-checking will show only the value.

4. Click OK.
