The Top Level Layout presents a simplified view of the board, showing the total number of posts together with details of the last post, for example:

Topic Layout
Select List
Initial Board
Select the appropriate board for display.
Show Board Descriptions
If required, check to display topic descriptions.
Choose Icon
If required, click Browse to select an appropriate asset.
Specify Forum Target Page
Click Change to select a page where the full Forum is displayed.
Show Custom Reply Button
Check if required.
Note: if this option is selected enter appropriate button text.
Use Topic For Page Title
Check if required.
User Can Subscribe to A Board
Check if required.
