Events Module View

Events

Displaying an instance of Events on a page in either calendar or list format.

Events element

Drag and drop the Events element onto the page or template:

1. Configure the element. The following view will be presented:

2. Edit/configure:

Calendar

Select the appropriate Events instance.

Querystring Prefix

If required, add an appropriate querystring to display records containing that querystring.

Allow inline event management

Select which users may edit events via the page.

Note: Record Owner Only ensures that only the creator of an event may edit the details of the event.

All Permitted Users allows users in a group with write permissions to the instance to edit events.

Summary view

The Summary View controls the initial appearance of the instance on the page. Select the appropriate option:

  • Large Calendar ViewLarge Calendar View displays events in a traditional calendar format.
  • List ViewThe List View presents a list of Events. Selecting an event displays the detail and, if enabled, allows the user to book onto the event.
  • Mini CalendarConfiguring the Events Module View element Mini Calendar View.

Detail view

The Detail View controls the appearance of an individual event once it is selected from the calendar. Once a View is selected the following options are presented:

3. Edit/ configure:

Select the required View.

    

Render Title As

   

Select the header tag which the event title should display as.

  

Detail view style

Select the appropriate Theme for the detail view.

Image Size

If the event creator has added an image to the event details, select the appropriate Image Size.

Show empty fields

By default the element will only display fields for which data exists. If required, check to show unpopulated fields.

Show venue

If a Location has been defined for the Event, check to display this information.

Show contact

If a Contact has been defined for the Event, check to display this information.

Edits subject to moderation message

An Approval process may be configured for new events. If so define a message to be displayed when a user selects edit for an event.

Events has details waiting approval message

Enter a message to be displayed once an edit has been saved, advising that the change is pending approval.

Display awaiting approval message to public users

Check if required.

Show iCal download link

iCal allows users to add the event directly to an Outlook calendar. Check if required.

iCal download link label

Enter appropriate text for the iCal link.

Note: that the specific Event instance in question will require the Everyone read permission present or granular group permissions to be applied for the iCal Download Link to function. Without this, a 403 HTTP response will be displayed confirming access to the resource is denied.

Extended record view

If a custom Views have been created, select the appropriate view.

Booking

Select whether booking is available via this instance of the calendar.

Override booking page

If an external booking process is to be used for this event, click Change to select an appropriate page.

Allow historical event booking

Check if required.

Send session Id to booking page

 Check if required. This data could then be captured by a Form with an element set to look up data via a querystring.

Booking button type

Select the required option.

Booking button label

Enter appropriate text.

Attending Message

Enter appropriate text.

Cancel booking label

Enter appropriate text.
