Automatic import

Automatic import allows administrators to configure and manage a bulk upload of assets from a server or file location.

Automatic import

To configure an Automatic import go to 

  • Content -> Pages -> Options -> Setup 
  • Content -> Assets -> Options -> Setup 
  • Setup -> Site 
  • System -> Configuration


Select System -> Assets -> Automatic import:

1. Edit/configure:    

Enable import job    

Check to enable.    

Import files on local server   

if required, check to indicate if the files are held on a server.  

FTP address / local file path    

Enter the location of the required files.

Username

If required, enter a username which will allow access to the file location.

Password

If required, enter a password which will allow access to the file location.

Passive transfer

In passive mode FTP the client initiates both connections to the server, solving the problem of firewalls filtering the incoming data port connection to the client from the server. Check if this option is required.

Remove assets missing from import location

If required, check to delete any existing assets which do not exist in the import.

Enable PDF conversion

If required, check to convert imported assets to PDF.

Note: the PDF converter module must be installed to enable this option.

Job is to run once daily after (HH:mm)

If required enter a time to automate the import.

Head category

Click Choose to select a category for the assets to imported into.

2. Click Save.
