Membership / role providers enable third party applications to access Easysite for the purpose of authenticating user details. This could be a membership database which confirms that a user is a current member as part of the authentication process.
Membership / role provider
To access Membership / role provider to go to:
- Content -> Pages -> Options -> Setup
- Content -> Assets -> Options -> Setup
- Setup -> Site
- System -> Configuration
Select System, and then People -> Authentication -> Membership / role provider:

1. Edit/configure:
Enable membership / role provider
Check if required.
Access key
Enter the required access key or token for the membership /role provider.
IP restrictions
If required, create a whitelist of IP address(es).
Force SSL security
If required, check to ensure that membership service can only be accessed over SSL.
